Clearday Communications is a consulting firm that specializes in helping our clients become strong and confident communicators, presenters and facilitators.
Claire Carver-Dias founded the company in 2003 to bring the values and tactics she learned during her time as an Olympic athlete in the public spotlight to the world of corporate communications. From one-on-one or team communication skills development, to facilitation training, to providing speech or copywriting support, Clearday teaches clients how to connect and be heard.
Claire Carver-Dias began her career as a synchronized swimmer on the Canadian National team, winning a bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, as well as four gold medals in the Commonwealth and Pan-American Games.
Since retiring from sport, she has spent over a decade speaking, writing and coaching professionally; she has trained many fellow Olympians in public speaking, and provided speechwriting and communication training services for executives.
Claire holds an MA in English Literature from McGill University and a PhD from Bangor University, and is a published author of both fiction and nonfiction. Chair of AthletesCAN from 2006-2008, Claire was also on the board of the Coaching Association of Canada; she now sits on the board of directors for the Commonwealth Games Canada and is a member of the Young Professionals Council for the Shaw Festival.
““I’ve been a professional speaker for 7 years, and I consistently received good feedback from my audiences, but working with Claire, I saw that I could get even better. She gave me practical and specific feedback, and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I improved a lot.””
